Mechanical Design Engineer

--Remote--

At WETO, you will work with the Engineering, Procurement, and Operations teams to design and implement industrial machinery and welded structures for the cocoa and chocolate processing industry.

This role combines hands-on mechanical design, engineering problem-solving, and clear communication within a small team. Initially, you will focus on upgrading and improving existing machinery. At a later stage, you will develop new equipment.

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who understands how machines work and wants to contribute to their development—from proposing technical solutions to preparing the designs and documentation required for manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Independently developing upgrades and new design solutions that improve machine performance and simplify manufacturing and assembly.
  • Designing mechanical parts and assemblies, and preparing 3D models and 2D documentation in Autodesk Inventor.
  • Selecting materials, components, and manufacturing technologies with consideration for quality and cost.
  • Collaborating with the Procurement team and suppliers on technical arrangements, component and material selection, specifications, and resolving manufacturing issues.
  • Creating and updating part data and bills of materials (BOMs) in the ERP system

Must Have

  • Bachelor Degree or Higher in Mechanical Engineering (or a related technical field)
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial mechanical design
  • Very good knowledge of Autodesk Inventor (or another CAD system) and technical drawing standards.
  • Ability to work independently: define stages, estimate effort realistically, and report status clearly

Nice to have

  • Experience in food processing
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical skills
