Manufacturing Engineer

--Remote--

The purpose of this role is to support engineering projects by ensuring component availability, coordinating suppliers, and running technical sourcing for parts.

This position connects engineering, technical procurement, and operations. The goal is to translate technical documentation into real components, reliable suppliers, and on-time deliveries for engineering projects.

Responsibilities

  • Run technical sourcing (RFQs) for mechanical parts and technical components, including offer comparison and supplier shortlisting.
  • Translate engineering requirements into purchase-ready specifications by clarifying key parameters with engineers (materials, tolerances, finishes, acceptance criteria).
  • Own purchase order execution and delivery tracking (lead times, on-time/in-full), proactively flagging risks and driving resolution.
  • Coordinate suppliers and incoming deliveries, including basic delivery verification and handling technical claims/nonconformities with suppliers.
  • Maintain operational visibility in ERP (e.g., Odoo) by keeping order statuses and supplier/order registers up to date and supporting kitting for projects/prototypes.

Must Have

  • Experience in a technical environment (Engineering / manufacturing / technical procurement / supply chain)
  • Ability to read technical drawings and documentation
  • Comfort with concepts such as RFQ, PO, lead time, technical specification, substitutes, and a basic understanding of BOM
  • Clear, factual communication with engineers and technical suppliers
  • English proficiency at a minimum B2 level

Nice to have

  • Experience with an ERP system (Odoo or a similar platform)
  • Basic CAD skills
  • Hands-on experience in technical purchasing and working with industrial suppliers
  • Willingness to work in a environment where some data and processes are still being organized and built
  • Experience in incoming quality checks or handling technical claims
